As the registration cycle for Mini-January and Spring 2022 begins, please be aware of the dates listed below when undergraduate students may begin enrolling.

Students and faculty representing the biology, chemistry, and engineering and physics departments will be on hand to conduct exciting experiments and provide opportunities for fun hands-on experiences.

Three campus/community receptions will be held in Henderson’s Garrison Center, 1045 McKnight Drive: - Dr. Jay Gatrell, Sunday, Oct. 24, at 5:30 p.m. - Dr. Charles Ambrose, Monday, Oct. 25, at 5:30 p.m. - Dr. Alberto Ruiz, Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 5:30 p.m.

Martha Mosqueda was first runner-up. Second runner-up was Kirby Smith.

The performance is a one-night-only benefit event featuring Claudia Beach and Marc Miller. Tickets are on sale now.

Arkansas State University System President Dr. Charles L. Welch announced October 18 that three candidates will interview on campus for the position of chancellor at Henderson State University.

Ten finalists will be announced Oct. 14 during the annual homecoming pep rally and bonfire. The court will be introduced and the crowning will take place during football pre-game festivities on Oct. 16 when the Reddies host Harding University.

Smith will work with the Henderson Dance Company and lead three master classes. An informational performance will be presented Oct. 15.

The group of student musicians will perform a program entitled "Landscapes" Sunday, Oct. 3, at 4 p.m. in the Arkansas Hall Auditorium.

Chris Roberts is a published author who works in the technology industry. He recently launched the app ForeKash. He earned a BSE and MSE in mathematics at Henderson, then opted to continue his education at Henderson, adding a BME in instrumental music (trumpet).

Funded by a $586,688 grant from the Arkansas Natural and Cultural Resources Council, the project addressed various exterior issues. Henderson State is seeking a management and marketing company to manage the entire operations of the bed and breakfast and event center.

Performances will be Sept. 30, Oct. 1, 2, and 4, with a matinee on Oct. 2. Tickets are on sale now.

For the past two years, the team has been using metagenomic DNA sequencing to identify microbes from a “petroleum pond” found in an unusual Tennessee cave.

The award establishes the Windgate Foundation Scholarship Endowment at Henderson and also includes a $60,000 bridge grant for student scholarships. The application process will begin in late fall.

Justin Neel graduated with a bachelor of science in education degree in business technology education. He currently is a business and marketing technology teacher at Caddo Hills High School.
