Dr. Joe Campbell is an assistant professor and chair of Counselor Education at Henderson State University. The program offers two degree tracks: School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Both tracks lead toward professional licensure.
Transfer enrollment has reached a five-year high point with 66 transfer students enrolled for Spring 2025. This reflects a 43 percent increase year-over-year and tops a high of 64 transfer students enrolled in Spring 2023.
Students from across the state will give short, oral presentations or present posters describing their research. Registration deadline is March 3, and abstracts must be submitted by February 28.
Distinguished Alumni awards will be presented to Dan Garrison ('85), Jim Harlow ('73), Michelle Ortiz ('96), and Dr. Johnnie Roebuck ('74) . Claudine James ('09) will receive the “H” Award, and the Young Alumni Award will be presented to Clay Sexton ('09).
Felicity Frushour was named first runner-up, and Katie Batts was second runner-up. The competition categories included private interview, health & fitness, talent, on-stage question, and evening gown. The pageant is a preliminary event for Miss Arkansas.
Eight Henderson State University students will vie for the title of Miss HSU 2025. Admission is $10, and $5 for age 18 and under. Admission is free for HSU students with a valid HSU ID, visiting royalty, sponsors, and children 5 and under.
To be named to the Chancellor’s List, a student must have achieved a 4.0 grade point average for the entire semester. To make the Honor Roll, a student must have received at least a 3.5 grade point average for the semester.

My courses and professors set high expectations, always challenging me to meet those demands. As a result, I set high expectations of myself and that has stayed with me throughout my life.
The single ceremony starts at 10 a.m. and will feature 200 undergraduate and graduate students receiving their degrees.

The Institute of Jugglology's performance will be held in Henderson's Arkansas Hall Studio Theatre at 7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
"My experience at Henderson is one that I will cherish forever. Attending a smaller university makes you family. I wouldn’t take anything for my friends who are more like family."
Henderson Halloween will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. on the university's South Lawn. The public is invited.
Ten finalists will be announced Oct. 24 during the annual homecoming pep rally. The introduction of the full court, followed by the coronation ceremony, will take place during football pre-game festivities on Oct. 26.
