Deranaque Sturghill was first-runner-up, followed by second runner-up Devin Koger. In all, 21 students were nominated for the homecoming court.

NerdCon will be held Oct. 19 in the Dunn Student Recreation Center from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is $5.

A highlight of homecoming week will be the inaugural Academic Reunion, where alumni can catch up with former and current faculty and fellow alumni. The reunion starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, in the Garrison Center Grand Ballroom.
The 10 finalists will be announced Oct. 17 during the annual homecoming pep rally and bonfire. The court will be introduced and the queen crowned during football pre-game festivities on Oct. 19.
The performance, with the theme of "We Shall Overcome: The Perseverance of the Reddie Spirit," is free and open to the public.
Dr. Lewis Kanyiba & Dr. Jane Opiri of Teachers College, Henderson presented at the 12th Annual KESSA on September 13-14 th 2019 at the Atlanta Marriot Marquis in Atlanta GA. KESSA is an organization that brings together African scholars in diaspora to promote and advance their scholarly, scientific and research work.

On Saturday September 21st, the student chapter of the Arkansas Educators Association (SAEA) volunteered at Habitat for Humanity’s Restore in downtown Hot Springs as part of Reddie to Serve. ReStore is a non-profit home improvement store that accepts donations of household items that include everything from glassware to the kitchen sink. Profits from ReStore are placed back into sustainable housing efforts in the local community and around the world.
