The book is an A-Z look at the African nation’s politics, economics, civil conflict, women, arts and literature, health, history, and personalities.

The new initiative is designed to connect the university with the Arkadelphia business community while giving students hands-on experience launching and growing new ventures.

The gift will support Henderson ROTC cadets as they pursue their education and prepare for leadership in military service.

Distinguished Alumni awards will be presented to Dr. Thomasena Craig (’93), John Elkins (’02), Jim Garland (’82), and Shannon Schwartz (’01). Vanna Eddington (’90) will receive the “H” Award, and the Young Alumni Award will be presented to Dani Pickens (’08).

The system includes a 360-degree live weather camera and a separate weather station that collects and displays current temperature, precipitation, wind speed, and other essential data.

Hill, a 1987 graduate of Henderson State, has served as director of bands at Marion Public Schools since 2020. Throughout his career, he has led and revitalized band programs across Arkansas and New Mexico.

McKenzie Sanders, a senior pre-med biology major from Little Rock, was named first runner-up, and Ava Littleton, a sophomore sport management major from McGehee, was second runner-up.

The planetarium will offer seven unique programs on its state-of-the-art panoramic projection screen located in the Reynolds Science Center. All shows are free and open to the public.

All performances, which feature students and faculty, are free and open to the public.

Preliminary 11th-day reporting shows a total of 1,976 students enrolled, compared to 1,820 in Spring 2025. Freshman class numbers climbed by 39 percent with 465 students versus 335 in 2025.

The university has added the marketing and communications team within the Office of University Advancement, and has began a search for a senior director of marketing and communications.

The pageant will begin at 6 p.m. in the Russell Fine Art Center's Harwood Recital Hall with the Miss Henderson State University Teen Scholarship competition.

To be named to the Chancellor’s List, a student must have achieved a 4.0 grade point average for the entire semester. To make the Honor Roll, a student must have received at least a 3.5 grade point average for the semester.

Through the dedication and generosity of alumni and supporters, the chapter has reached a milestone of $25,000 in contributions.

Susan Ford graduated from Henderson State in 1991 with a music education degree. She currently teaches music at Cabot Junior High South.
