Henderson State University was the first in Arkansas to offer Esports scholarships. It launched its program in the fall of 2018 and currently competes in six titles.

Brian Rosenthal, president of the Arkansas Bar Association, will be the keynote speaker. The conference will feature a buffet luncheon. Tickets are $1 and may be purchased by calling 870-230-5230.

Each planetarium show provides a tour of the night’s sky, visiting beautiful planets, nebulae, and galaxies. Before the shows begin, a guide will point out the fascinating objects that can be seen that night with the naked eye, binoculars, or a telescope.

The program features student soloists selected as winners of a competition in November. The concert will also honor Charles and Ann Rye, retired professors of music at Henderson.

The American Institute of Physics (AIP) has selected Henderson State University as one of five high-performing universities in the United States working to increase the number of African Americans with bachelor’s degrees in physics.

Richardson is a veteran of the renowned Rhythm & Brass chamber ensemble, jazz legend Joe Henderson’s Quintet, the Chicago Jazz Ensemble, and the Brass Band of Battle Creek. He has also appeared with numerous celebrity artists.

Henderson State University will close for the Christmas and New Year holiday Monday, Dec. 23, and reopen Thursday, Jan. 2. Students are currently on winter break and will return for classes on Jan. 13.

The Chancellor Search Advisory Committee will begin work in early 2020 to assist in recruitment of Henderson's new chief executive.

The ceremony for School of Business and Teachers College, Henderson, will begin at 9 a.m. in the Wells Center gymnasium, followed at noon by the ceremony for the Ellis College of Arts and Sciences.

Henderson student ensembles and community groups will present festive music and dance for the holiday season beginning at 6 p.m. in Arkansas Hall.

Larry Jefferson, also known as "Santa Larry," has been portraying Santa Claus for 20 years across the U.S. He graduated from Henderson in 1988 with a degree in sociology. Jefferson is also a retired U.S. Army captain.

The Henderson State University Board of Trustees approved the merger agreement and transition plan to join the Arkansas State University System. The agreement is subject to approval of the ASU Board of Trustees and the Higher Learning Commission, as well as action by the Arkansas General Assembly.

Six performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 14, 15, 16, 18, 21 and 22, in the Arkansas Hall Studio Theatre. 'Angel Street' is a murder mystery set in Victorian-era London.

The event will be streamed live for 24 hours from 9 a.m. Nov. 2 to 9 a.m. Nov. 3. It can be viewed online at twitch.tv/hendersontelevision.

Wallace enjoyed a long career at Henderson as a tennis player, teacher, and coach. Living in Arkadelphia, she still attends various events on campus.
