The Arkansas Aviation Academy provides training for pilots who are not enrolled as Henderson students but are seeking credentials to become commercial pilots. These changes were recently approved by the Federal Aviation Administration. For more information, please email aviation@hsu.edu.
Get your Commercial Multi-Engine Add-On Rating in 4-5 training flights. The course can be completed in 5 training days with your checkride scheduled soon after course completion, depending on the weather and Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) availability. Typically your checkride will be reserved before your start the course so when you are scheduled to begin your training, your checkride will be within a few days upon completing the course.
Course Includes:
- Ground training to prepare you for your training and your checkride
- Simulator training to help learn procedures
- Approximately 6-8 hrs. of multi-engine flight time
- Pre/post-flight debrief time with your instructor
Timeframe & Price:
- 5-10 days (This is dependent on the weather. The training can be condensed to 3-5 days.)
- $6,500 (Require a minimum $500 non-refundable deposit to reserve a spot, the remaining balance will be due on arrival before your training begins.)
- DPE Fee for checkride is not included in the cost for the course. We work with multiple DPEs in the area to do our best to schedule the checkride within 2-3 days of when you will complete the course. When we schedule you to start your training, we will let you know what the cost is for the DPE you are scheduled with.
What you will need to begin:
- Commercial Airplane Single Engine Land (ASEL) Certificate with Instrument Rating
- Must be instrument current
- Must be under 260 lbs
- 3rd class (or higher) FAA medical Certificate
- Unexpired Passport OR Birth Certificate
- Driver’s License
- TSA Approval if not a US citizen
